Welcome to Velocity
Velocity is the premium provider of pothole solutions. Velocity’s road repair machines are fully self contained and carry all the necessary equipment and materials to repair road defects in rural and urban areas. Every machine is fitted with a customised Vehicle Tracking and Reporting System (VTRS). The process is carried out by a team of 2 – driver and operator.
About Us
The Velocity Patching process emerged in the early 1980’s following extensive research carried out in the United States.

Velocity staff have been heavily involved in the development of Velocity Patching technology since 1985 and brought the process to the United Kingdom in 1997.
3 STEP PROCESS

STEP 1
High Velocity air is used to remove all dust and debris from the defect.
STEP 2
Bitumen emulsion bond-coat is forced deep into every crack and crevice
STEP 3
Bitumen emulsion and aggregate are mixed, then immediately compacted into the void using high velocity.
Uses..
  • Potholes, preventative, programmes and emergency
  • Pre-surface dressing patching
  • Edge deterioration
  • Haunching
  • Sealing and extending the life of worn and conventional repairs
  • Cracking and crazing
  • A quick alternative to conventional patching
  • A long term solution to road defects which will make your road last longer
Financial Benefits
  • Our process is the most cost effective way to repair and maintain your road. Our average cost of repairing a pothole is £13 per square metre, compared to the national average of £55
  • Due to the speed of the process, road closures are not required in most instances, which dramatically reduces disruption and costs
  • Our process does not require any excavation; therefore no waste material is produced
  • Our process is carried out by a machine operator and a driver. Once the Velocity crew know which roads need to be repaired they will work alone
Environmental Benefits
  • Our CO2 emissions are very low as no waste material is produced by the process and our materials are 100% cold applied
  • Our new machine will save you a notable amount of fuel through its new PTO powered engine
  • The average repair will take no longer than 2minutes
  • The repair can be opened to traffic immediately, therefore dramatically reducing your traffic management costs
  • Reduction in vehicle movements
  • Reduction in traffic congestion
Technology
  • We are continually looking to update our machines
  • We have made significant improvements to our new 'Ultimate' machine
  • Our emulsion research has helped us have a wide variety of different formulae, from simple to polymer modified blends. This means we can match them with different aggregates and apply them to the needs of the road and customer
  • We have researched different types of aggregates so that we know which ones work best with the different types of emulsions
Customer Testimonals

"Kent County Council Highways have now been using the High Pressure Patching process for a number of years across the county. Over this time a greater understanding of the process and its benefits has allowed it to be targeted to work effectively, to provide long term and durable repairs to the road network. This type of repair can be carried out quickly, reducing disruption to traffic and I believe it is a valuable addition to our toolkit."
"Stirling Council has benefited from using the Velocity Repair process for over 7 years now, and it has proved to be the most efficient way to deal with potholes on our road network. Prior to using the Velocity Machine, Stirling Council had tried various other methods of dealing with potholes. We have found that by using Velocity Machine we have reduced the cost of each repair, while also being able to get a greater output compared to any traditional method."
