Since the introduction of the process over 14 years ago into the United Kingdom we have established Velocity Patching as an invaluable tool to combat the effects of reduced budgets and the recent climate changes that have seen the network suffer from dramatic increases in the annual defect count. Velocity™ road repair machines are fully self contained carrying enough materials to remediate up to 200m² of pavement defects in one visit. Reduced vehicle movements, low CO2 emissions and improved public perception as time spent at roadworks is diminished add to the benefits of using our process. Velocity™ are constantly improving the quality and performance of our process – emulsion technology provides us with more durable longer lasting repairs and combined with sourcing of suitably reactive aggregates we can extend the pavement life by sealing defects and preventing further water damage to road base.
The process relies upon the skill of good operational staff and at Velocity™ we only provide fully trained experienced operators who we are confident offer right first time quality repairs. All our operators follow either an apprenticeship scheme or national vocational qualification after induction training.
With the need for more quality within the industry the National Highways Sector Scheme has brought the Velocity process under its guidance and 2012 will see its control extend across the sector with companies having to adhere to standards that Velocity™ follow as standard practice. Velocity™ offer a bespoke web based Vehicle Tracking and Repair System which gives instant accessibility to a summary showing number of defects repaired along with volumes of materials and date stamped.
