Material Development
With our respected global experience of the process, we constantly strive to improve our service and client support. Recent developments in emulsion technology allow us to provide unrivalled advice and guidance for suitable aggregate and emulsion to ensure longevity and quality of the repair.
We work closely with our supply chain partners to ensure materials are tested to vigorous performance standards further enhancing the process as a must have for the modern highway inspector.
Aggregate Selection
Our experience means we can advise on aggregate selection to ensure that repairs will be long lasting and help reduce your carbon footprint by reducing haulage miles from quarry to depot. Our experienced sales staff when discussing your programme requirements can advise on aggregate size and type and which blend of emulsion will offer the greatest benefit throughout.
Training
With the development of the process, Velocity has highlighted the need for expert training for machine operators – all Velocity operating personnel follow a bespoke training package using National Vocational Qualifications.
The National Highway Sector Scheme outlines the need for training and the 2012 update will include minimum training levels for the process.
VTRS
Each Velocity unit is fitted with our customised ‘Vehicle Tracking and Recording System’ (VTRS). This records the position of the vehicle through a GPS link to provide an auditable log of the road, date stamp, materials used and number of defects repaired.
Machinery
We are continuously updating and improving our machine and the quality to the end user. We have recently released our 'Ultimate' machine, and our own Velocity fleet will soon benefit as we continually improve our own road repair fleet. The new glass fibre aggregate hopper reduces weight and allows the vehicle to carry more materials. The newly designed aggregate delivery system significantly decreases overspray and gives increased protection from water ingress. These are just a few of the improvements we have made, however we continue to look into different ways to improve the technology to save more money and improve the overall process.
